Well known fake, found in a variety of colors and conditions

Are you sure Gene? The wear and patina look pretty natural to me.

What is the marking, I can't quite make it out.

Gene, the two you presented are indeed fakes, but they are not the same as the one in question.

What do others think? Fake? Original?

Without a doubt, I'm with Gene. A quite well worked FAKE.

All these fakes have the same eagle design but different maker marks.

Once you have in mind this particular eagle design, you spot a fake in a second.

But I agree that the artificial aging on this one is particularly consistent and able to fool a lot of collectors.
