Luftwaffe Officer's Feldbinde in origian box

    Hello,

I post this set offered by e-stand for discussion as the eagle looks replaced (by a fake one) IMO.

    Any comment is welcome.

    Thanks

What I wanted to say that it's not a first model ( when the wings are not touching the border ).
This one is a second model. Go see on germanmilitaria.com and you have one with the eagle wings touching the border of the buckle. I am talking about this because on another "post discut" some was talking about this caracteristic concerning fakes .

          Regards,
          Gerald

If you're referring to the buckle pictured, I may confirm it's a well known repro even if differently advertised.
I may add that all the original eagles observed by me (I° and 2° type) are with wings shorter than yours and Guild's.
All original specimens having eagle retained by 2 pins, show them by an horizontal line due to the fact they are applied to the wings reverse, on the other hand a variant exist with eagle retained by 2 prongs passing through the oval and then folded : in such case the holes may be by a vertical line.
As already said by PM, my opinion is that the oval and brocade are original period but formerly bearing a denazified eagle (variant retained by prongs) and someone replaced it by a repro one just to improve the set.

              Ric,

This buckle/brocade was discussed earlier on another thread. I agree it is a bad buckle and so stated on the other thread. I have never seen a LW officers buckle that is a legitimate one where the
eagles wings touch the wreath. I might also go a s far as to say that I question the body as well but that is up for further discussion.

                Ric ,

If I read you right when TWO PINS Horizontal are repro ( 1 or 2 type )!!!
So this one to is repro !
Of course not ! it's original exemple first type.

                regards,
                Gerald
