    small belt buckle lot

    Hello forum...

I got this lot in the mail yesterday from a lady who says her dad was in WWII and brought these back along with a few other items.

I just want to make sure the stuff is legit... which they "should" be.

One army buckle appears to have been scraped with a file which bums me out. It also has the eagle looking the other way?

I couldn't make out the damage in the photos she sent but am still pleased overall.

    Thanks for the help. Robert

              Robert,
The buckles are all original.....love the Gold DAFs with tags....the Navy looks like someone went over the highlites with a black magicmarker,.....that should clean off.....the Army looks like someone scrapped it on the road or something...being minty otherwise probably done postwar....(not the key buckle anyway)...didn't notice the reversed head....if it is still scarce.
The rest are self-explanitory....but all good!
              John G.

                Thanks for the help.

Yes... looks like the buckle was dragged.

I haven't been able to find a reversed eagle head for my collection for a long while. I need to keep looking.

                thanks for the help.... Robert

Leftward facing eagle is early, first ones even can be found in nickle, somebody ruined this one--I think circa 1945, nice gold dafs with tags,

                  best,

Hello Has anyone ever come across an unmarked DAF buckle? I like the look of the gold DAF buckles but the owner says he can't find any markings. Searching my ref. books and a bunch of threads I haven't come across any unmarked buckles. Thanks Kirby

                      nice buckles

the gilt DAF seems to be marked m4/30.. and the catch are typical from Berge & Nolte.

The KM steel gilt is very nice , despite the post war black paint on the front... From C.W MOTZ / MAEDICKE.. I think..

I had a DAF gold buckle and the RZM marks were very hard to see under the paint. Tak a really close look w/ a glass and you may pick thyem out.
