Would you be willing to sell the Mecklenburg one?
My ancestors came from Wismar, Mecklenburg-Schwerin.
My dad wants any Mecklenburg militaria he can find(as long as it is fair priced).

      Imperial Buckles

      Hello Karl

Much as I admire and sympathise with the sentiments of your thread, be en guarde that dealing or trading is apparently not tolerated by the moderators - just a gentle reminder.

Great buckles though and which would make an obvious in simpatico family connection !

      Regards,

      David

I don't think they will do anything in this case even if some (like your humble servant) are considered
But you are right. It is one of the rules all forums (not only the Belts and Buckles one) have to follow. If we don't do what we are supposed to do, there will be no need of moderators. So, we just do (or maybe "I" do would be more appropriate) what requested

Here's another Saxon construction variant. Just one of a great number of such variations and not terribly special, but might be interesting to see all the same. This is a M 95 (45 mm) and the three solder holes in the buckle are rectangular slits rather than round.

          Regards,

Ok. Thanks for letting me know. Me and my dad will have to look a bit more to find one.
              Thanks!

To answer Karl's request. These are both very scarce buckle. The tombac MB is the first I have come across in years. The second one w/tab is actually a very scarce variation on the standard face plate. Note the oval center as opposed to round and the the outer smooth edge w/very small rope border. Have posted more for whoever is interested. One is a Weimar vetern buckle? Has anyone seen one like this? Any ideas as to what it is? The other two are Chinese from the Boxer rebellion. The first is chinese made the second is German produced.

                          Hi all,

I've been guilty of it myself, but could we stop being lazy and start posting the reverses as well? It does making educated comment (and controversy) so much easier .

                          Cheers,

                          Karl
