    Assmann 155/40 opinions needed

    Hello,
I have recently seen an SS EM buckle which I was told had been dug up on the positions of Polizeidivision near St. Petersburg.
I am not very much into kind of militaria but I have compared it using a thread concerning fake 155/40 Assmann buckles and the result is rather sad IMO.
    But I may be wrong.
    Here it is.
    I would appreciate your opinions.

Thank you very much for the opinion, Ric. It gives me some pride that I was right in the area that I do not specialize in.

The seller was well informed that I am very interested in Polizeidivision. The legend was quite convincing but I am not the one to neglect the advice given in Jean Pierre Redeuilh's topic on fake Assmanns.

            One more question.
Is it true that these fake buckles appeared in HUngary about 6 or 8 years ago?

They were possibly made in Hungary / CZ Rep in the late 90's but did not appeared in this country first. The ones made in Hungary for sure are the nicest die struck aluminum SS officers.
