          nice buckles
both are original.. the first obviously being an SA
the second is a painted steel HJ ... under the paint on the reverse if you look ever so closely you may find the marking M4/23 (Dr. Frank & Cie)
I know that eagle by sight... on a side note, this buckle shows up in a few distinct colors which were factory painted.. one is a grey blue ( like yours) and another is a field green..
nice to see the little portion of RZM tag left stuck there..
this is an RZM tag for SA items.. but has been known to be found on these buckles.. my thought is that they ran out of HJ RZM tags and used what they had.. there are far too many examples of the same buckles having them for them to be post applied.(my opinion). this adds to this particular buckle..
thanks for sharing and congrats on the new buckles..

Thanks for the comments guys, and the very detailed response Chad. I did not know that about the tag, so that was interesting info. I cannot find the maker marks you mention, but the paint is very thick there, so could be hidden as you suggest.
