    Dangerous ALU fakes

    Hello gentlemen,
please look at the fake ALU buckles in this page:

    http://www.1944militaria.com/belts.htm

    and

    http://www.1944militaria.com/new_reproduction_items.htm

The steel ones are well-know fakes (pigeon head and so on...).
Instead the ALU buckles look very well made and they can be very "dangerous", at least for me.
The seller is a very reputable dealer for reenactor stuff, but if theese buckles fall into the wrong hands...
    What do you think about?

    Regards
    brus

    Thanks Brus,

These casted fake happeared on the market about 5/6 years ago and fooled a lot of collectors. I guess now most of them are aware...

Please do not apologize when you did the very right move!! Nobody canblame someone for trying to warn other collectors!
My input was done just for one purpose based on my experience:
Way too many collectors are now assuming their buckle is good just because they bought it BEFORE those casted fakes appeared on the market. It indeed could make sense but only if the ate of reference (starting fake's production date) is accurate or within minimal range of reality.

Read some of the threads which started this forum (2001/2002), especially the ones dealing with SS aluminum. Many infos are there.
