      Midas!

These buckles are so hard to judge, because we have very good reproductions of this roundel on the market.

What I personally don't like on your buckle are these filthy solder spots and the sleeved prong bar. I would expect on a WW1 brass buckle welded prongs. The buckle looks further to be artificially aged.

Have you checked if the roundel is made from nickel silver or is it just silvered copper? And is there some dirt to find when you look into the catch?

      Regards,
      Guido

Midas, At first the buckle looks good but looking at some of the details it begins to become questionable.

As Guido points out the sleeved prong bar was unknown untill much later...Also the prongs are cut in the classic fake way. At flat right angles to each other instead of being pointed. The prong bar head is too large for me.

The roundel looks pretty good as does the body of the buckle..The metal of the prong bar sleeve and prongs appear to be copperish in color?

I collect these buckles and really like them but I would hesitate on this one...

          I agree with the others.
The roundel looks too crispy compared to the body. The soldering points do not look period. I would expect welded prongs just like Guido said.

You should pass on this one.
