    Opinions on this HJ

    Hi all,
with the recents discussions on HJ buckles i thought it was a good time to ask about this one. I've had it several years but have never been 100% sure about it. IT steel with a dark silver / grey finish, not paint so I always figured it had an anodized finish. I happy with the basic contruction, prongs, prongbar and catch.
Slightly concerned with the measurements, 47mm X 61mm, 2mm's shy but not a major concern.
What has always troubled me was the absense of any RSZ and M4/ markings, and no M4 mark on the tag, let me add I know zero about telling a good tag from a bad one.
    Any thoughts/opinions are appreciated.

        Hj

        Paul

        An interesting HJ.

I am sure that Christian, Marc and others will respond, although I think that this buckle is fine, albeit slightly unusual.

I was initially concerned with regard to the positioning of the hook bar, although after having a squint at some of the steel HJ's that I hold (including a very similar M4/22), quite happy.

Not unusual to find a HJ without markings and/or strange finishes and of note, I feel more comfortable that the makers code is not on the RZM label.

Have not a clue however as to whether this style of RZM label is copied, although again, Christian will be sure to confirm.

        Regards,

        David

Had you noticed that page 295 of the James Nash publication, shows a HJ belt buckle with the same type of RZM label to yours.

No makers code, although obviously a different production number.

          Regards,

            Hello Paul,

I hope your buckle is a good one...I have the same!
Even if it is very strange to see a steel HJ buckle without maker, I think it is OK.

It is hard to say something regarding the tag. A lot of collectors(include myself) know such "arrow" tags on mint, genuine buckles.
BUT they are not made like the official tags! And, as far as I know, manufacturers get the tags from the RZM.

No idea what is the story behind these tags...

            Christian

              Hi,
Except this problem of unmarked buckle, i could noticed that the detail of
the whole buckle design is really poor.
Especially the lack of dots around and behind the eagle design.
The end of the wings shape too.
Anyway, i don't know if its a real or a fake, but I just wanted to make the point.

              Niko
