Hi All,
Thought I would start a thread to high light some of these, as I believe they are under rated. Here is one that is unit marked, Pioneer Battalion 15 ?

It is indeed an other ranks buckle for the 1st Alsatian Pioneer Batln No. 15, part of the XV Armee Korps garrisoned at Strassburg. Here is a silver prussian officer's buckle which could be used for pioneers among a few other units and regiments that have silver fittings and buttons. Now, I'd like to see some more imperial buckles ...

Is the roundel silvered brass, or is the lighting just making it look like brass showing through the roundel?

Small colection of unusual buckles. The "In treu fest" telegraph buckle is a child buckle.

VERY Nice and rare Mecklenburg-Strelitz buckle, from the II Batln. Grenadier Rgmt 89 garrisoned in Neustrelitz.

Back to the buckle marked D.R.G.M on the prongs Terry posted earlier.

The D.R.G.M on the prong bar is to protect the patent of this system where the prongs are inside the prong bar. This is often seen on WWI buckles but scarce on WWII buckles. One of the WWII buckles that have the same system is the rare Weimar period FAD buckle with axe, shovel and book on the inset. WWII collectors often regard this scarce buckle on as a fake as they don’t know that this system is actually a continuation of an already existing imperial system.
