RODO Nickel Silver Buckle

Okay guys, I've been collecting for 35 years and my Dad and I have an interest in buckles. I got this buckle out of the woodwork yesterday and have never had or seen such an example. It does not appear to be plated postwar and the catch has a nice swing to it, which most real buckles do. What do I have here? All opinions are welcome.

From the photos supplied it looks to me that the letters are embossed (raised) and larger than normal; is this correct? In addition, I have not come across a plated Heer buckle such as the one you have supplied.

From these two observations I believe your buckle is a RODO reproduction we come across from time to time. I will allow others to comment as well.

I believe the buckle to be original that has been either chromed, polished or whatever it has had done to it but, original RODO buckle, I have enclosed pics of another for comparison

Thanks guys. Incidentally, the RODO logo is not raised, but stamped into the metal. I plan to take some better pictures of the buckle today - to me, it looks like it was chromed or nickel plated when it was originally manufactured. If the buckle were chromed after the war, I would imagine that the buckle would have had to have been disassembled to chrome the catch; however, the buckle shows no signs of being fooled with.

Barry my thoughts are if it was period chromed it was used a dress parade buckle.

I stand corrected as my leaning towards reproduction was due to the mm looking as if they were raised. Better pics would be a good next step towards clarification.

Okay, here are some more photos. This is a tough buckle to photograph because it's like taking a picture of a mirror. I do notice some slight bends on the edges of the buckle. Although I can not imagine that this buckle was plated postwar, I wouldn't rule it out. What does everyone think?
