THANK YOU! WOW I had no idea these things were of such value I also have another buckle SS but I think it is nickel plated maybe not ( but I won't trouble you with it as you have done so much for me already).
The markings on the belt (Va etc.) are exactly like the faint ones on my belt, and the belt hook is alum. as you describe.
I have a a selection of belt buckles with tabs and now I will get them all out and look at them, I even have a Navy buckle with the 1938 date and eagle m stamp.
It was very nice of you to go through the trouble of looking my belt marking up, again thank you!
