O&C 57 RZM Nickelsilver SS EM Buckle

    Dear All,

I was enjoying all those pics of early nickelsilver buckles that I decided to dig mine out and take a look. Once I did that I wanted to find others exactly like mine to compare. Could not find too many with 57 but in any case could not get enough of looking at them no matter what code, full name or abbr.. In case others are like me I would like to add pics of mine for the bunch to see. Came exactly as shown with that belt with black lining

    Best!

    Al

A very nice set in a marvellous condition!!

The maker of the buckle is Martin Winter from Munich, M4/2.

Is it possible to get an image of the adjustment strap?

            Regards,
            Guido

So, it's not even O&C but Winter. I didn't even know they produced SS buckles. Lucky me.

Ok, enough smilies. Thanks guys! Guido, is this the view you requested? If not let me know.

                          Hello Al,

thanks for posting your beautiful set .

Interesting to see a black lined belt along with an early SS by nickel.

                          Best

Thanks for posting the additional pics, Albert.

It is not my intention to deduce a general rule, but I have seen the special way of affixing the adjustment strap to the belt already on several other ones that came with a nickle silver SS buckle. I mean the enlarged part of the adjustment strap at the end.

Sorry, have no idea what the 4 stands for.

                            Regards,
                            Guido

Usually done on higher quality belts made for private purchases. Most of the time the sewing thread does not show on the other side (front side) but is instead hidden by a final layer of leather glued over it.
