    Youth Belt Buckle

I have never seen a buckle quite like this one. This boy sure has a nice uniform, but, it is not HJ IMO. Many things different right down to his nice shoes.

However, I zeroed in on the collar tabs and the belt buckle in an attempt to discover what he is. This buckle looks like it has the head of a chef on it!!!

It does not look like anything in my references for the DJ or HJ.

    Any ideas?

Standard HJ drum and eagle hanger (imperial version) though.

Photo taken from an ebay auction which I lost.

my first thought is a chimney sweep buckle (see page 557 Angolia 2nd edition)
but after staring at it for a long time, the zoomed in picture looks like a dogs head..
would love to hear others thoughts on this

Trying to decipher what the buckle in the picture looks like is similar to watching clouds... you rmind plays tricks on you and you see things others don't! Could it be a skull buckle??? Chad may be correct in this being an earlier WaldPfadfinder Jugendbund buckle. Most likely an early boy scout buckle.

          Hello,

it's not my intention to kill my friends fantasy, but enlarging a pic we have to consider much distortion.
That said I see the HJ motto in the usual place and the diamond containing Swastika again in the usual place : I would personally say a standard HJ buckle.

But at first sight, a human/animal face appears in the roundel middle.....

          Best
