    Unusual Scout (?) buckle

    Hi collector,

I want to show an unusually 35mm scout (?) buckle. The construction is very interesting. The catch is marked "Patent" and the post/prongs are marked "D.R.G.M.".

Has anybody another buckle which is made the same way?

    Christian

        Christian,

See this Miner's buckle on Collector's Guild. Some similarities in construction but not exactly like yours.

          Christian,

A very odd construction. Never seen anything like it before, especially the prong bar. Seems like an awful lot of work just to attach the rondel to the buckle body. Maybe David can jump in on this one as well.

          All the best,

          Bill

              Thanks for the input!

Interesting link Dan. Any idea about the makers mark on the miners buckle?

If we can nail down who allowed "Patent" then I believe our puzzle would be mostly solved and I have no clue on this one.
