Hello, I have this belt (dated 1939) and buckle (dated 1937) ... was this possible that dates did not match ???

Hi Olivyaya, I do not see it as a problem. Belts could be made by one company and buckles by another. They would be issued out the Quartermaster and mis-matched dates would not be worried about. Only collectors 60 years on worry about these things
