TWO PIECES iron Wurtemberg 1915 buckle

    Hello,

Let's see something unusual for us, buckle collectors.
I know most of us do not collect imperial era buckles but this one is interesting!

    http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=320381427301

I bought it and received it. It appears to be a transitionnal buckle between model 1895 and model 1915. The Wurtemberg "Furchtlos und Trew" motto is stamped on a roundel that is soldered to the boddy, just like model 1895 in brass ans unlike model 1915 in one piece iron. It has 3 solder points instead of two and the buckle is marked JD 1916. The leather tab is unmarked.

This is the first time I see this type of setup. Does somebody know about other buckles like this one?

    Thanks.

    Simon,

I have seen and owned two piece steel Imperial EM buckles. They are not common. The ones I have owned were 1. two piece/two solder points (Mechlinburg schwerin) and 2. two piece w/attached face plate held on by 4 tabs. Sachsen. Marked "P.R.Wimmer Leipzig Gesh. gesh. 1914. So these were obviously produced but in very low numbers. Hope this helps.
