    Is My SS buckle

to expensive or has everyboy got one and they dont need or want anymore ?are they generally overpriced $1200 on the collectors guild ? does not having the belt attachment bits turn people away ? I started the price at £600 after checking the guild and finding a thread about a member who bought a relic dug up buckle that had been filled and sprayed silver for 350 Euros I thought £600 was reasonable anyway I am down to £370 I have one very lowball offer and I mean low, no lower than that (but you got to try) someone who said yeah I take it give me your adress ( he dissapeared) someone with 0 posts who wants to do a bank transfer yeah right here you are person no one knows here are my bank details . Do people think yeah I really want that but alas times are hard and I cant really afford it ? Is it a crappy version by the crappiest maker of SS buckles . Whilst it undoubtedly is a nice thing I need a fridge so I want to sell it ,but I dont want to sell it for less than the price of a mastic filled sprayed silver piece of archaeology . Please feel free to reply or ignore this thread be as rude as you like I have thick skin . Rob

    Rob,

for what it's worth (which is little) when i divested myself of my SS related items around 3 years ago my complete belt and buckle sold for £330.

Which is what i paid for it initially.

How the figure of $1200 comes about i have little if any comprehension. I appreciate that certain makers/styles/vintages will always command a premium but.....

There is one for sale in the UK at the moment for £400 which has sat there for a while.

Hi Robb i think the main problem in my opinion is the buckle isnt complete if someone wanted one example they would want it so .Emil Jutner is a nice maker i cant see people having a problem with it .

Hess is right. Your SS buckle is not complete and finding the missing keeper with its sleeve assembly is kind of impossible since this maker (Emil Juttner) did not make many buckles for officer in zinc.

Also, Emil Juttner SS officer buckles do not sell at the same price than an Overhoff manufacture. Why? I do not know since they were made in lesser quantities than the ones made by Overhoff, and retail should be reverse.
But it is a fact: Juttner is cheaper than Overhoff.

I doubt you will find a buyer for your current asking price. Be maybe ready to cut another $100 USD to get a chance ...

        Just IMO.
