      Hello Claude,

that buckle is well known, but unfortunately is not an original one.
Keep in mind no original buckles bear such configuration : device attached by a nut.

      Regards

        Hello,
I believe the buckle itself is an original with a spurious eagle added postwar. While I have never seen an original officer buckle with an insignia attached by a nut (mind you, there are nuts out there who would do such a thing ... geddit?), there are non military enlisted examples of such a construction dating from the 19th century up to the Third Reich.

An original in gold or silver stamped aluminum would be penal or justice official.
