    Newest Luftwaffe Buckle

    Howdy gang,

Just got this buckle today. It's a 1938 dated R. Sieper & Söhne piece that is unit stamped II./Z-G.76, the famous long range fighter unit that was used for both day and night missions.

      Nice tab Gene,
I really like them like this. I personally do not have this marking in my collection. The nicest I had seen so far where two tabs marked with the regimental markings of the Herman Goering reg / div.

        Unit stamping

        Hi:

Where do you guys get your info on the unit stampings of Luft buckles?

I have a few Luft buckles with unit stampings on the leather tabs and would like a little info on them?

        Regards
        Gary

          Marc,

You know who to sell that buckle to when you want to!

          Gary,

Post pics of your buckle's tabs and we'll decipher what they are. If you can't post pics, email me and I'll post them for you.

            Hello Gene,

I can not remember if I showed already the buckle, but here is the 'proud' of my former collection.

The marking between the tab is (three lines) "I / BOELKE -- HORSTKP -- I".

I assume it is from the Geschwader Boelke, but why the "HORSTKP" ? Any idea?

                    Unit stamped Luft buckles

Here are some pictures of three Unit stamped Luft buckles.
I'll try to read the unit stampings the best I can, but they are hard to make out.

The first one is dated 1935, it has a drop tail eagle and has a crank catch.

                    Fl. H.KDTR. ANSBACH
                    2./ 355

The second one is dated 1937 and the letters L.B.A.l.S.l

                    Fl. H.KDTllR. HALL

The third one is dated 1936 and has the drop taiL eagle.

                    FLAK RGT 25
                    S.T.B 1

Can you tell me what these markings are for?

                    Regards
                    Gary

                        Gary,

Beauties, all of them! I especially like the 1935 dated one, I've been looking for a nice 1935 dated buckle for a while. Fl. H. Kdtr is Fliegerhosrt Kommandatuer (or basically "assigned to") and Hall/Ansbach are the locations. LBA(S) is Luftwaffe Bekleidungamt (Luftwaffe Clothing Depot) and the (S) I believe is for Stuttgart. These are also commonly encountered with a (B) for Berlin as well. FLAK RGT 35 is obviously the 35th Flak Regiment but I'm at a loss what S.T.B. 1 means. Maybe Marc or Jean-Pierre may know?
