Perhaps your question about this clever fake HJ buckle needs to receive more dignity and attention than those idiotic "emoticons", or whatever these lazy and half wit response devices are called.

My English is very bad. Thank you for kind words, I am an idiot who just wanted to help.

As you both have already said, I also agree that this is a known modern reproduction
furthermore, the eagle is not an assmann design, and this mark was never used on steel painted buckles... Chad

Hi Guys, many thanks for the info, the thread you pointed out is excellent David and is really informative, also thanks to you Papi - I am more than happy with a one word answer if it stops me making an expensive mistake!!

              Thanks again, Rick

"...my English is very bad. Thank you for kind words, I am an idiot who just wanted to help...".

I have re read my response several times over and I cannot for the life of me see where I called you an idiot or criticised you response. In addition, I am on record within the forum as one who has always recognised the international nature of the forum where English is not always the members native tongue.

My issue with your response and incidentally many others within the forum is the use "smilies" with one and if we are lucky, two or three words. It supplies an answer/opinion, however it hardly promotes or stimulates a discussion (definition of form ?). It is in my opinion a lazy, too easy and soft option which does not have to be justified or dignified by even the most basic of support detail. If say a buckle is pronounced a fake (WELL KNOWN FAKE ), surely the reasons should be given as advice, guidance and assistance to fellow collectors ?

                Perhaps not.

If my response caused you offence, then this was quite unintentional and please accept my unreserved apologies.

                Regards,

                David
