        Sascha -

I can't help you my friend as I don't know enough about the personnel who wore the buckle and the history that goes with it.

I have search for a thread that give me more information about this buckle. I found a thread from Marc and he told there are only a few buckles in collectors hand. The owner of this buckle told me that he bought it in the year 1994 and maybe it comes from the areal eastern Berlins.

          Thanks and best,

          Sascha

                      Hello,

he bought it from a dealer in the early 90s. He believe it was found in eastern Berlin - Halbe.

                        Hello,

Buckle for a very particular unit : Einsatzstaffel der deutschen Mannschaft in Kroatien.

For more ample information, refer to the Hugh Page Taylor articles (Military Advisor and Uniformi & Armi).

                        Cordial greetings.

Thanks Polux for providing my articles on the ES der DM in K as sources of information.

To be precise, they were in

                          - "The Military Advisor", Volume 10, Number 3, Summer 1999 (R. James Bender Publishing)

                          - "Uniformi & Armi", January 2009 (Albertelli, Parma).

FYI, I have already sent a 2nd part to "U&A" which will be published in their June 2009 issue.

I'm curious why Ric Ferrari should have been so certain that this buckle was not SS related? Such bold statements must be made with care. Basta guardare il numero di gennaio di "Uniformi & Armi"!

                            Hello hpt,

absolutely agree that certain statement must be made with care.
My opinion is based on the evidence that all the Waffen SS Division were supplied with the standard SS buckle and to my knowledge no pics are available with such buckle worn by an SS soldier.
Of course I'm very interested in different opinions, if supported by evidence.

Anyway, I'm sure other members will offer their opinion about....

                            Best

Please do not take it wrong, but I am still waiting for the evidence Waffen SS troops ever wore this buckle (by Waffen SS troops I am referrring to personnal paid by the German 3rd Reich). Of course I am NOT referring to troops/members helping the Waffen SS but by personnal been absolutely recognized as part of the Waffen SS. There is a huge difference.
