    These things still trouble me - I don't think I'll ever be able to tell for myself . . .

        Pay great attention to the shape of the two top crimps (devices holding the back disk to the buckle body). Then compare those to certified originals (manufacturing dates does not matter) posted in this forum or elsewhere. It is impossible to do not see the obvious difference !
        Then you will avoid 80% of those fakes.
