    DJ buckle-Good??

What do you think about this one. I believe it is OK but a bit concerned about the prong bar sleeve. A fast response would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bill

Not really quite sure if this buckle is actually DJ, however it is in my opinion definitely "period".

Worth a generous bid I think. Good Luck !

        Regards,

        David

Thanks guys. I just bought it. Big $$ but then how often do you see these. And I have not been able to find anything in the way of Weimar or early TR buckles anywhere.

              hello
The buckle is definitely period and the prong shroud is original and unchanged. This buckle came from Marc's collection which I purchased some months back. Angolia has this listed as unknown pg.266 27(6) .. but I agree that this is most likely a quite rare pfadfinderbund buckle..

                Chad,

Thanks for the response. Glad I got it. I was just checking with the Forum as a precaution even though I believed it to be a good buckle. Did not know it was you selling it. Would not have even asked otherwise. Have sent you a separate email on the details.

                regards,

                Bill

                  Hi there!

I think it is quite hard to make a hundred percent judgement to these buckles, because it is easy to fake them. But in this case I have a good feeling.

There is a similar piece in my collection and I would also like to hear some opinions. As you can see, it is a 3-piece-construction.

                  Best regards,
                  Guido

                          Hello Guido,

even if the Sieg rune appears slightly oversized, I like the overall patina : by the reverse pic it appears applied to the plate by folded pins , am I right ?.

                          Best

You are right, Ric! Thanks for your reply.

The rune was attached to the plate by folded and soldered pins.

The size of the rune is also the thing that makes me a little bit nervous as well as the quite short post sleeve.

                            Best regards,
                            Guido
