Early SS buckle - double (?) marked

Hello! This appears to be an early SS belt buckle with stamps combination I 've never encountered before: Ges Gesch + 57 RZM.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? Is "57" code for "Jul.Maurer Oberstein" company in this case?

no that's the first serie of RZM code and not m4/57

    RZM 57 = Martin WINTER

rare buckle , what a pity for the catch...

Have a look under the pin shroud of your buckle.

The article submited in the above link is still the most complete as of today. I did not find any further information.

Happy that you have found the "hidden" SS mark.

As Emmanuel has so rightly said, a rare nickle silver SS buckle and what a pity about the missing C catch.

                        Regards,

                        David

Indeed. I would have been very surprised if you missed the obvious. Maybe a novice could, but certainly not someone with more than 1000 posts in this Forum ...

This forum just helps to find such things and to share knowledge. 1000 posts do no indicate my knowledge level in SS buckles & markings and that is the reason why I am here with my questions. Just take it easy

Pimpf, please read again my post with attention: my post was a compliment to your knowledge.
What I meant is: if someone has posted more than 1000 posts in this Forum, he is now trained to carefully look every detail on the object he has in his hands. So I did not believe one second you could have missed the SS runes before posting your inquiry. And in fact you wrote it yourself: "I did know about that."
