    Faked belts and buckles question.

I have only one belt and buckle that is real, I think, posted in another thread for opinion. It looks as though a large percentage of the buckles and belts posted for an opinion are fakes. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm sure seeing alot of them. Anyway, my question is this. Do you guys think that belt buckles are the most faked item or something else? Such as badges and/or medals? It's the dis-heartening facts of these fakes that makes this fun hobby almost not even worth enjoying any more. It seems that the fakes coming out of the former eastern block and Europe are just as good ,sometimes, as the real thing. Sorry for the "down" attitude, but it just drives me mad the lengths that a person will go through to screw you! It seems to me that unless you are a 40 year expert carrying a library of reference material with you everywhere you go AND before you actually "trust" someone, you have to take 20 pictures to post on line for another 10 experts to give their honest assessment on the item...before you buy it!
    HOLY friggen hell!

Brad, there are lots of original buckles on this forum along with lots of fakes, I think nowadays almost everything is faked and it is getting better all the time. What I would say is before buying do your homework or ask or even both, that way you are less likely to get burned

Ya, I've learned (learning) that the hard way. I have many reference books, some written by people on this web site, and I still get bushwacked! It just get's to the point that you roll the dice I guess.
