A slightly unusual FAD buckle

Perhaps I am right in thinking that the remarkably wide range of FAD buckles (other than the ubiquitous "eagle and book" buckle which is cleverly faked), is not the most favourite of buckles.

Here is a odd one !

To all intent and purpose, it appears to be a FAD cap emblem attached by a single solder spot (ouch !), to a brass box.

I think that it is period, however I would greatly welcome any comments.

at a second glance, the box of both of those are the same for sure, look at the turn down ears , how they are quite triangular.. I would say same manufacturer.>Chad
