The stamping quality is sub par, the ears of the buckle are of a design that is not normal and reminds me of a repro design.. and we have still not discussed the Gzm ... The mark itself does not scare me, but with the other characteristics.. adds to my doubt.. I have seen many strange markings that I cant explain... this buckle is a mystery to me at the moment.. I would buy one if offered ; but would be doing so as a curriosity and I am betting that it would end up in my repro box..>Chad
That's ok. I have photos of that HJ buckle (along with several others) since several years. But as you pointed out they are not mine and I had to crop one of them to show only (but at least) the marking.
Personal feelings are just feelings ... we can have those and feel safe following them but they will remain only that: personal feelings. Proof is something else, something we can rely on. A long time I do not rely on my personal feelings. That said, I will be very happy to hear Juoneen input ...

        I agree
my opinion is mine.. I am just putting out my thoughts , and I hope that someone will discuss their opinion about the buckle with me opposite or the same so that more than one perspective and many thoughts and ideas are provided as information for the forum.

We hardly spoke to each other, so I am not going to miss a lot ...
But rather to let nice words and comments of frustration flooding again all over me, please allow me to ask a question. I do not believe I was rude or did something I should be ashame of. I am just not providing (yet) evidence / information which took me and several other colleagues years of research to obtain. Period, nothing else.
Absolute evidence (both for original and/or fakes) is hard to find, and most information does not come free to your door. Then, you try to find even more since you finally have the start ... until you got the end. Who pay phone bills, trips, specimens, shipping charges, bribes, etc? So because someone wants the information I/we should give it? Just like this?Well I believe we are not sharing the same concept. I gave to this community already more than anybody else, no matter what some are going to say. And a lot of collectors are using what I brought to this community. So where were those collectors when I was doing the research and paying the bills? Buying buckles for their collection? If one spend his/her time to buy buckles, he will end up with a lot of buckles. When time to sell will come, he will in turn make a very decent profit (outrageous should I say for SS buckles sold today by some). Everybody will find this absolutely normal. On the other end, you have the researcher / historical fanatic who is spending the same money to get information, not enough is left to buy many buckles. When he finally has the information(s), he has to give it to the public. Faster and cheaper should also be the norm?
If it could ease the pain, we already shared that information between several selected persons of our choice. So the evidence will not be lost (and even one day it can pops up by itself). But for now, I still reserve me the right to choose to who, where, and when I want to bring my work on the table . We are no longer talking about: "I looked at my buckle A and I looked at my buckle B and you know what I found?" This I still do not have any problem to bring it right away ...

                        Redeuilh

Whilst we all enjoy immensely (rather like a dog chasing its tail) and somewhat sympathetically, your rambling, inarticulate and quite impossible to understand attempts at dignified and definitive responses, your latest includes a line that is quite beyond belief !

"...I gave to this community already more than anybody else..."

I have never heard such nonsense, rubbish and stuff.

It may be a shock to your system , however this is a belts and buckles forum and definitely not a stale, boring and constantly repetitive SS buckles forum - as you would prefer, compared to the two creaky forums that you moderate therein.

There are numerous groups of buckles within the genre of German belt buckles and you respond rather than lead within one group and one group only - SS. No more and no less.

I have always suspected that you have a "Little Napoleon" complex and this recent bizarre, delusionist and egotistical response possibly supports this.

Your nasty, patronising and negative responses are steadily eroding the once fraternal, chummy and friendly atmosphere of the forum and I know for a fact that some collectors and including myself, no longer spontaneously and freely contribute due to your constantly negative, insular and profoundly depressing presence.

Unfortunately your "naughty little boy" and theatrically sham self deprecating, hard done to and martyr to the cause attitude is wearing thin and sadly remains unchecked by those who should have barred you from this this forum, long ago.

                        Regards,

                        David

... looks like someone did not have any new buckle to polish or the store was out of cleanser ... ... either way a lot of time

I strongly believe some people could maybe find something by themselves if they finally start by doing something by themselves
