Heer officer and Reichsbahn buckles for opinions

Hopefully these pics are adequate. The condition seems rather new...or nice.

    Thanks for looking

The Heer buckle looks OK... by the way this is an enlisted buckle, not officer, with a 4 tabbed applied roundle. Any chance of a straight on shot of the front to better show the eagle?

The Reichsbahn from the photos I would be leary of as it looks newly painted and also I have not seen a Reichsbahn buckle with a no ear box. Is the box magnetic?

      Could I get a '2nd opinion'?

I'd really like to know if the reichsbahn is legit.

      Thanks!

Hello Have the ears on the buckle been crushed in or cut off? With the angle of the photo is hard to tell. Kirby

I have better quality pics of the buckles and on closer examination it does appear that the reichsbahn was spray painted and it doesn't seem like the ears are bent.

I'll pass on them as it seems like there are too many problems.

            Hello!
The lock "Deutsche Reichsbahn" was carried of the Bahnschutz protection.

It looks like the ears have been straightened but that aside I agree with Dan on doing a simple test and seeing if the buckle body is magnetic. If it is it is definetly a bad buckle if not there can be further discussions.

The Heer buckle is fine, can you get any better pics of the RB buckle? Especailly the rear? With them prongs and the pebbled rear it could be an Assmann but better pics will reveal all, or do the magnet test

Thank you all for the opinions.

I am checking with the seller to determine if it's magnetic. I hadn't considered that the ears were 'unfolded' but that would make sense.

This also makes me wonder though if the clasp piece was replaces (as the reason for the unfolding).

I'll post an update when I find out more.

Regarding the magnetic test, is it just a matter of putting a piece of steel/iron next to it and seeing if there is a magnetic force?

                    Thanks

I just heard back that the reichsbahn buckle is not magnetic.

Based off the pictures and the information thus far, do you thinks think this is likely real/fake?

                        Thanks again for your help.

Could I get an overall opinion on the 2nd buckle? The guy is offering both for $110 but if the Reichsbahn has too many possible issues, I don't really want it.

Based on the info and pictures, would you guys go for it?

                          Thanks,
