KreigsMarine Buckle??

Here's a buckle that I've had for a while. It appears to be a KreigMarine buckle from what I can see. It is different from the others that I've seen in that it appears to be stamped brass. I'm not a buckle person. A friend suggested that it might be for a special purpose job such as Submarine crew or such. Anyone seen a buckle like this or have some info??

Thanks, I picked this thing up quite a few years ago very cheap at a flea market in PA when I first started collecting, so I'm not out any big mula.
