    Alu St.Merkl Nurnberg for review

    Hello Guys,
I bought this buckle from a forum member. I can’t find any info about the maker:
St.Merkl 1940 Nurnberg. The thread of the leather is broken, but I think the buckle (which is unmarked) and the leather belong to eachother. Thanks for answer,
    Peter

Hi Peter if the buckle and tab do belong to each other then you have a buckle that is not so often seen, you don’t come across to many 1940 dated aluminium buckles, by then the steel buckles had come in. Nice buckle though

Hi Peter, not in any depth, you can find out if they had any "M" contract numbers alllocated but thats all know.

the buckle and leather tab do belong together. i just got the same 1940 Alum St. Merkl Nurnberg buckle with the leather stitching in tact and no maker mark on the buckle. will post pics soon... meanwhile, Collector's Guild has one for $209, which may just be priced right for once
