nice buckles.. the last buckle if marked KH22 is from CTD Christian Theodor Dicke is the makers mark stamped on the side fold of the buckle ont he reverse? this is an unusual place to mark a buckle, but this manufacturer did it quite often. Can you post a pic of the mark for the forum? thanks.>Chad

Exactly, buckle is marked on the side.
Can you tell me more abut KH markings? Early political buckles were marked KH before introducing RZM codes?

The HJ and DJ buckles show the full lineage and some great mistakes of the RZM maker numbering system. To explain the KH code I must explain the framework of the whole system. In 1933 the HJ and then soon after; the DJ buckles come into existance . The RZM were not fully controlling production and the marking of the produced items yet. This is why you will find solid nickel HJ and early DJ buckles UNMARKED these will be the oldest of the youth buckles... these roughly date from 33-34. The first series of marks ( RZM 17) which could also include the makers name and logo started in 1934. These marks relate to the later M1 list. They quickly realized that they were running out of maker codes quickly. So they issued interim codes (UE and KH) UE- Uniform effecten and KH -koppelschloss hersteler . UE relates to the later M5 codes and KH relates to the M4 codes. Any buckles with these UE and KH codes date to 1934-35. In 1935 the M code system was launched (M) for metal. M4/ for belt buckles specifically. So late in 1935 and there after all NSDAP buckles should be marked M4/** . There are some companies who didnt understand the marking regulations and with that said , there are many strangely marked buckles. A few examples are buckles marked MA, and M5 also there are buckles which are multiple marked by code such as a buckle which is marked "A A&S RZM 17 GES GESCH UE 8 " these are the reasons I love collecting youth buckles there are so many cool markings to hunt for and research!! hope this helps..Chad
