        Very nice and interesting buckles.

        I've a one piece privat purchased RAD buckle
        Material : Aluminium
        catch: Alu
        roll bar = magnetic..perhaps iron ?

          The reverse
          the black parts at both sides are from the Lacquer leather belt
          I think I've been the first person who sperated the belt from the buckle after 62 years

            Thankyou to all in respect of the comments relating to these two piece RAD buckles. Odd how the RAD buckle does not seem to have a strong following on the forum and perhaps we all once thought that there was no discernible variation to the design or method of construction. Not so of course.

            Ric, excellent examples by Overhoff and of course, interesting to see the period leather tongues. Musketeer , thankyou for posting images of the rare brazed catch RAD, albeit a "one piece" type. As you suppose, an aluminium box however with a steel pin, pin shroud and claw arrangement.
