    Unusual design SA-Koppelschloss

Attached are images of what I think is quite an unusual design of SA buckle and one that personally, I have never seen before. An interesting stub wing configuration, however a very odd head to the eagle.

    Regards,

    David

          Hello David,

an interesting variant you showed : at first sight the eagle body would appear well worn, but all the roundel show lack of details : no doubt the die was originally made by such way.

          Regards

          Ric

it amazes me that you can still be posting new SA designs!!!
            thanks for sharing

              David,

Just popped in to see this very interesting SA... are you sure this isn't a type of chocolate and left it in the sun a little to long?
Definitely a first for me on this variant.

                Hello David.
Very interesting and unusual buckle. Did not see earlier. A good find. It is possible to draw a conclusion- it is rare type SA designs.

Thankyou for all the comments about the SA buckle boys.

It is the nature of the collecting beast to show something different, unusual or rare, however in my opinion, this buckle is just one of literally hundreds of SA designs. No more and no less. The overwhelming majority of SA buckles by their designs being pre RZM and non regulated, with the design being at the whim of the manufacturer and commercially driven in order to attract sales within a potentially massively lucrative market.

These variation, odd and eccentric designs in my opinion, generally add nothing to the value of the buckle, albeit being rare and otherwise never seen before. There are of course exceptions to the rule.

Attached are a few randomly selected roundels, just to show how silly some of the SA eagles can be.

                  Regards,

                  David
