IMO this is a reproduction buckle.

Barney, you are probably already aware of these details, however the late response is essentially for the benefit of other members.

The DAF-Werkschar buckle is known by original examples in both a steel and a nickle silver construction, although these and in my opinion, are very rare.

The buckle that you have shown is a well known fake.

Once known, it is not difficult to detect and here are the major indicators:-

• steel construction with originally, a bright silver paint finish
• a light press detail to the cog and swastika
• fantasy and supposedly Assmann related markings which have been inspired particularly by the early nickle silver HJ by Assmann. The combination markings are a fantasy design and in any event, chronologically they should not appear on this strictly RZM controlled buckle
• the buckle is sometimes found with the easy to spot "reverse cut" tips to the steel claws
