    My SS belt buckle

I bought this buckle many moons ago and would like some advice on it.
I'm pretty damn sure it is genuine as it was bought from a reputable dealer and it is just clean, crisp, ticks the boxes and just feels right.
However, due to it being unmarked I'm unsure as to its maker and year of manufacture.
Any help and information would be much appreciated.

Maker is Overhoff and the year of production would be 1944 until 1945

Indeed correct but more I think about it, less I am confident we should discard the year of 1943 from the possibility. It is a known fact the RZM announced it will no longer supply several goods to the SS by Spring 1943 and did enforce it only by the fall of 1944. This is probably the reason why we found some Overhoff's marked 36/43 and 36/44 (so until the enforcement come to effect). But their quantities are very minimal to say the least! It is hard to believe only marked 36/43's and 36/44's were made / supplied during two years or so and suddenly huge numbers of unmarked were made and delivered. The amount of unmarked we are able to find in worn condition, in vets brought back or ground dug should suggest the SS already started to get their own supply without the RZM help before the enforcement of the decision (so between Spring 43 and Fall 44). Why some could have been marked and some not, that I still wonder ...

... me too. Maybe the unmarked ones are - made on a monday - But that still would'nt explain, why we have 1% marked and 99% unmarked - still one of the big mysteries of the third reich
