    SS 36/40 Buckle

    Hallo

I did not want to hijack the other thread about this kind of buckles, so i
    started a new one.

I have such a buckle in my box where i put the fakes.

I am now refering to the other thread where Jean Pierre Redeuilh wrote

To confirm by yourself just take measurements:
Original 36/40 Type 2 (what the above duplicates) are:
    Length: 64.76 mm / 2.535 inches
    Width: 48.34 mm / 1.890 inches

    Fake:
Length: 62.14 mm / 2.475 inches (or anything less than 64 mm)
    Width: 46.82 mm / 1.859 inches

So i was running to my bunker and took the measurements of my 36/40 buckle and the measurements are exactly 64,7 and 48,3

    Here are the pics

Now The question is -> back into the box with the other fakes

Or could it be a good one which would really surpise me because a lot
of people told me the SS buckles with 36/40 markings are fakes ...

Perhaps your fake box contains more orignal buckles as you know...
This one is one of them.

Not all 36/40er buckles are fakes..

BTW..I've not seen a fake 36/40 single ring SS..
could it be they have only faked the double Ring SS buckles?

When I post measurements they are taken from 100% mint unissued buckles. So, it is absolutely legitimate to expect a 0.06 and 0.04 mm difference on a worn/used one. This is anyway a difference only a digital caliper (what I am using) could tell.

Some should have noted I was refering to the Type 2 (double rings around runes) of those aluminum 36/40's since there could have been some differences with a Type 1 (single ring). But in fact there is none and those measurements can be used for Type 1 and Type 2 as well.

I do not know (yet) fakes of the Type 1.
