    The definitive N. S. K. K. buckle

Apart from the ubiquitous "open claw", this buckle is in my opinion the definitive N.S.K.K. - Koppelschloss, as opposed to the "white metal" SA style which many of us now feel is no more than an SA buckle and not exclusive to or the domain of the N.S.K.K.

Attached are images of two examples and it is interesting to note the slight variations in the design of the emblems.

    Regards,

    David

              Hello David,

an interesting subject and probably embarassing many specialized collectors, so any further attempt to bring more light is more than welcome IMO.

Here's another original badge applied on a box undoubtedly made by Assmann, it looks the same as the left one of David's merging : see way of building K letter

May I ask a stuid question? I always thought that these NSKK buckles with these eagles are fantasy items? I was told that these type of eagles have been taken from various NSKK headgear and soldered to a regular SA buckle. Can an expert clarify this for me? I would appreciate this very much. Thanks!

                    Early NSKK Buckle

In my motel buys, I was lucky enough to find one of these directly from the veteran. Along with it came the usual NSKK Dagger: Early SA with a black painted scabbard and the political style belt and cross strap. While only finding one in over 350 buys, I consider this type buckle to be one of the more rare ones to find. I found SEVERAL SS buckles, but only one of these.

                        Sorry Rick,
I traded it on youth items long ago. Now, I sometimes regret some of the items I found going for items I wanted more AT THE TIME, but still love the items I wanted as much. Then I was raising a family and working for the retirement I am experiencing today. Ah, such is life.
