    1941 dated with steel hardware, but wait, is that an aluminum buckle?

      well how about that, maker marked buckle dated 39, but assembled in 1941, I knew I had to buy that one for 52 dollars when I saw it in the display case at the flea mall,

        Indeed not the norm and very interesting.
        I think, these both (Tab and buckle) belongs together.
        It's hard for me to explain it (school-English 30years old )
        but I try it.
        This buckle is produced 1939 .
        So maybe that the Obtaining office of the Wehrmacht had no need of buckles and LGS had put their new produced buckles in their store.

        when the armed forces built new divisions in 1941, (Barbarossa) LGS got an order of belt buckles to delivering. So a leather Tab of 1941 was stitched up.

        A very nice and rare piece of history.
