Hi David, that second buckle is what I have seen in the past, funny them both having them same small flaws, I wonder if that was a result of the manufacturing? BTW David, that second buckle is a cracker!

Without doubt the exact same design as David's, but the die does not show the flaw mentioned.
Referring to the variant with roundel applied, I would not give it away but it needs more investigation IMO.

My buckle has the the rests of silver painting. The project of a disk is absolutely identical to yours.
I am confident that these buckles-original.

Thankyou for showing your most interesting DLV/RLB buckle and rather like Ric, I think that it is quite original (and rare). Also like Ric, I think that there are aspects of the two piece DLV/RLB buckle which needs further investigation.
I have now ignored the "flaw" to the roundel, as this defect apparently appears on original and one piece examples. It could however have been a good and instant indicator when isolating the fakes.
Sven is right about the poor quality of some of these two piece fakes. What has baffled me about the one that I posted (which I think is a fake), is the superbly detailed roundel against a very poor quality box.
I think that the overwhelming majority of the two piece aluminium DLV/RLB buckles on the market are fakes, it is just that some are "better" fakes than others.
Regards,
David
