I found this whilst out walking the dog on new year's eve, it had eroded out of an enbankment and comes from an area that held surrendered German troops in 1945.
It's seems to have been almost double de-nazified, the hole is definitely cut and isn't corrosion, then there's the 4 nail holes that have been hammered into it in a lopsided rectangle as marked by the red dots, as if the owner had fixed some sort of plate over the offending eagle and swas.
