    Opinions on these buckles please

    Hi guys,

    any opinions on these buckles?

Looks like HJ buckles. They are made of aluminium, the spikes are magnetic.

    Any idea about the value?

Is the left one HJ too? It is marked with a RZM stamp and "HK 45" on back. It is magnetic.

The right one looks like Reichswehr. It seems to be made from German Silver.

      Any idea about the value?

          DJ belt buckles

An interesting brace of DJ buckles, although I am slightly surprised that they are as you state, aluminium.

Are you sure, as I would normally expect to see a nickle plating.

Also, am I right in thinking that these buckles are the smaller 35mm size.

          Regards

          David

The two black buckles on top are DJ buckles, probably 35 m/m
Very nice with the black paint still on. Are they for sale?

                Marc,
whats the difference between those black DJ buckles with a silver and a gold Sigrühne?
As far as I can remember I've only seen and handled gold ones.

                  Pieter,

The difference between the nickel rune and the brass is that I would question the authenticity of the brass one. These black painted DJ's are very tough to find w/the nickel rune. It is easy to paint a standard DJ buckle w/the brasss rune. Anyway Marc, might have another opinion but he is away on holiday. As for the size and metal make-up I agree it looks like 35 mm buckle. I have NEVER seen an aluminum DJ. It probably feels light because it is the smaller version.By the way Pieter, some very nice and rare buckles you have.I once missed a number of years ago the prototype Diplomatic buckle from a dealer in California for an extremely low price because he listed it as being in stainless steel. By the time I checked it out ands realized it was not stainless it was gone. And so it goes., you win some and lose some. Also FYI, Marc bought the majority of my collection a few years ago when I decided to get out of the 3rd Reich buckles and stick with Imperial and Weimar buckles.

                  Bill
