    Werewolf, SA & Others

Hi guys same thing again, your opinions would be most welcome, also is there any chance any of these were made by the same maker?

                        Ben

                        Hens Teeth!!

What a remarkable collection of belt buckles !!

The striated reverse to the box is well documented and I think that it is more than reasonable to assume, that it emanates from a single maker. Who the maker was, well that is anyones guess. If you provide myself with the benefit of a few days, then I will post a few more examples of the striated reverse buckle. There is a clear consistency here.

                        The other buckles though !

A fabulous example of the ultra rare youth sector of the Wehrwolf organisation. I am unsure as to whether the remarkable wolf hook emblem buckle is fully and completely documented, although it is invariably known as Wehrbund-Jugend or Jung-Wolf. Again, an ultra rare and highly desirable buckle.

A super example of a Jung-Deutscher Orden buckle (Maltese Cross) and one, which is not commonly seen. This is not a popular buckle within the collecting fraternity, although it is sometimes forgotten that this organisation was associated (youth ?), with Der Stahlhelm-Bund. As such, perhaps one not to be casually ignored or immediately dismissed.

In relation to the "Totenkopf" buckle, perhaps I may be allowed to reply later, as I need to remind myself that I am not currently indulging in recreational chemicals, having had a squint.

                        Regards,

                        David

Here are a few more examples of brass buckles which display a "striated" reverse. I think there may be a clear makers fingerprint in relation to the wide catch type, although it is more difficult to detect on those with the C catch. A reasonably good chance though that they all emanated from the same factory and despite the differing (a) folding method/ears and (b) pin shrouds/claws.

Does anyone know what the "Niedersachsen Ring" buckle is ? Evangelical ?

The star in my opinion though is the Totenkopf buckle. I suppose however that any original buckle with a deaths head device, is guaranteed to be of interest. This is possibly only the fourth time that I have seen what I consider to be an original example. All being the same and in every detail. Just who the buckle was designed for is for anyone to guess. I suppose that the likely candidate would be Veteran associated, as opposed to say Regimental, Wehrwolf or Freikorp. Does anybody have any thoughts about this enigmatic and fabulously rare buckle ?

                          Regards,

                          David
