This is a Reproduction buckle that is currently being offered as such by at least one web site that I can think of.

      Best Regards
      Mike

Mike are these a new generation of fakes? They are very good if that is the case

Chris, have you got better pics of the front of the buckle, the makers mark inside and the stitching on the tab per chance

          Hello Chris,

I can say that in 1986 an Austrian dealer located in Linz (Oberoesterreich) showed me about 50 of them all by the same maker and all in mint condition.
Here's one of them still in my collection : it's made by alu grayed.

Btw, by the pics that RAD buckle looks original IMO

          Best

Hi Ric, yours is a 1936 made one, the one of Kirby is from 1939. But anyway, Kirbys looks ok to me, although my 1939 RAD has a different stamp ( maybe mine is fake - no - ) I am curious too - who is selling these kind of good reproductions ? ...if these are the same. Don't worry Chris, your buckle is a fine Original One.
If you wanna see the fake LGS 39 RAD buckle..please have a look
                            and compare..

BTW if the fakers were able to produce meanwhile such perfect buckles..I think they don't start with a RAD buckle..

the backside.. you can see cleary the differences
and that LGS 39 is the only fake ONE-piece ALU RAD buckle, which one is known to me.
