This is a fire-police buckle made by Overhoff & CIE Lüdenscheid.

This typical black-finished surface had had only fire police buckles.

Interesting topic, I didn't know that there were police's buckles with different coloured finished.
Black finished for fire police, and for the other police like gendarmerie, schutzpolizei,
wasserpolizei and gemeinden which are the colours finished?

Silver finished is the common one useed by Schupo., Gend., & GemPo

Gold finish was utilized by Wasser and Verkehrs

Dark burnish by fire support services
