Leather Tab question

Hey guys....Here's a quickie question. I have a Berg&Nolte buckle with a leather tab on it...the leather is brownish tan (like most tabs). In "Frank2far"'s thread, he posted another B&N but it has a black leather tab. Why the different colour? Any reason some are black and others tan?

I personally believe it depends on what the factory had available, so it was not made on purpose.

Cool Ric .... thanks for the quick answer. At first I thought it depended on the specific maker...but the two B&N with the different tabs but that theory to rest. Makes sense that they would use what they could get their hands on. Not like the tab was visible during wear....so it didnt' really matter for uniformity.
