    WW1 BUCKLE HELP! Thanks

I am sorting through some odds and ends. I listed this in the Imperial Section I should have listed this buckle here instead . Can anyone tell me about this buckle. It seems kind of crude. It apppears to be made from aluminum. The pics are a bit blurry, but in hand it is still not a crisp looking item

Here is the back ,notice the sloppy weld on to catch.

Thanks for your time and help.

Aluminium is not really a good sign.....should be brass or metal. If the detail is lacking, that is another bad sign that is pointing to a possible reproduction.

        Hello Dennis,

I'm sorry for the lack of definitive answer, but even if I own some WWI buckles, that's really not my field.
BTW, in my experience I've never seen a WWI buckle by alu.

        Regards

        Ric

Never seen an alu ww1 buckle.

Details looks lacking from the photo, alu construction, poor weld on the catch...I dont like it.
