I got this today with a group of items. Headgear is my main collecting interest so I'd like some help with this. It's in excellent condition, what service branch would use brown leather and what do the marking mean? Thanks for any help.

no, IMO it is an Officers belt..worn from rank second lieutenant until senior colonel.
the general's beltbuckle must be golden.
