Sorry that I ask..but what makes you sure, that this is a buckle made by Meybauer? It looks like an Overhoff... I've never heard, that Meybauer produced buckles.. He produced very nice decorations for the Luftwaffe.. So I'm very curious about your explanation..

No, it does not look at all like an Overhoff. I will come later to the evidence. You do not remark anything very particuliar to this buckle (I mean the Paul Meybauer's buckle)?
Here is an Overhoff to compare.

Indeed. But, once again my question, do you see in the Paul Meybauer buckle something really particuliar? (or in other words something not common to the vast majority of buckles)?

                  other "folding tool"

Do not worry, I will post other photos and comments in the following days. Please forgive me (or should I rather say forgive us since I would not have been able to succeed without Ric's (b.collector) help) to do not post everything at once, but to finally been able to post this thread took close to 5 years of search / research. Thanks God, the Canadian winter there and the long dark, cold and snowy days with nothing to do helped a lot to bring this to collectors .

                            Are we getting warm???

                            1. I agree with Schorsi on the folding tool of the box to include ears.
                            Also:
                            2. The eye of eagle is more pronounced than others I have seen
                            3. Pebbling between the open wings and neck of the eagle to complete the roundle

Very nice buckle by the way!!!

Let's concentrate on the construction of the buckle, not its eagle design.
