first Iwill apologize for this type of question as I know nobody realy likes them. I was shown a mint SA buckle by one of the woman helpers at our local gun show Sunday and I need some help on a value. I do not have a picture as I did not have my camera. It is an SA buckle of the round officers type, Gold in color, she has both parts of the buckle. I must say it is in mint condition and is the most beutiful buckle I have ever seen. I do not collect uniforms in any way, I am a pistol collector that likes to put together displays. like this SA shooting team attributed Walther PP with the Oxblood grips. I would love to get this buckle but what is a fair price? thank you in advance for your help. I will get some pics at the next show and post them. It was maker marked on the back M/4 24 thanks again frank v.

yes that is it. The rectangular portion that the belt passes through is very ornate on the one I am asking about along with the other half of the buckle (the catch). I am pretty sure this is a political leader buckle is it not? I have a book on enlisted buckles but nothing on the higher ranking pieces. I take no offense and my buckle skills are very limited to what I have read or have been told. Any help is appreciated. I have since found a couple pics and believe I have ID'd the buckle properly. I found a couple for sale on some other sites for around $400 , is that the going price on these buckles? thank you for your response Frank V.

Yes...This isn't an SA buckle...it's a political leaders buckle. $400 is WAY too expensive...you can find these usually for anywhere between $95 to $150 depending on condition. $300 will usually get you a super condition buckle AND a political leaders belt along with it!
Shop around and you'll find a better deal!
Cheers!

I would like to thank everyone for their help. The buckle I have come across is a political leaders buckle and not SA. There is a political leaders buckle for sale on the E-stand now for $175. Only diff. is the one I am looking at has the other part with it and looks to be never issued.
Was there a round brocade type SA buckle made? If so
Could someone please post a pic for me? thanks again you have been a big help. Frank V.Last edited by vitts; 10-31-2007, 06:30 PM.
